School Children Lining Up Outside

Welcome to the BugWorld Experience Learning Zone. Learning sessions are now available for Key Stage 1 & 2 groups from September 2009 in our brand new education suite. Many of the sessions will also be available in your school classrooms bringing BugWorld to you. We hope to promote a creative skills based curriculum that will bring out the inquisitive learner in each and every child!

All of our education sessions are planned and delivered with the National Curriculum and its objectives in mind. Each learning session encourages group discussion and interaction, developing each child’s speaking and listening skills. Our aim is to educate children about the fascinating world of invertebrates and the positive contribution they make to our world! We also want to show children how they too can make a positive contribution towards conservation and caring for the environment both locally and globally.

You will note on our Learning Sessions page we offer what’s called a Flexi Session. This allows you and your class to really personalise your learning at BugWorld. Perhaps you have an exciting school project you feel our resources could bring to life? You might also have your own ideas and objectives to bring to our interactive environment, let us know and we’ll incorporate your ideas.

All school visits include a learning session led by a qualified teacher and a self guided tour around the interactive exhibition, where the children can meet the bugs and learn from our presenters. For the brave there is also the opportunity to handle our favourite bugs!
