Some doctors still use Medicinal Leeches to treat certain ailments, or how about the endangered Fen Raft Spider, one of the UK’s biggest spiders, who can actually walk on water. Talking about spiders, you’ll definitely want to see how the South American Fishing Spider catches its prey!
Here at The BugWorld Experience we’ve been trawling the British waters for water loving creepy crawlies! In the Water zone our nets have caught leeches, crayfish and hermit crabs. We will also be hosting seasonal pond dipping sessions where we will catch some new water based friends from the Mersey River. Together with our experts and the help of the public we can learn more about the local water bugs in Liverpool.
Dragon Fly
A dragonfly is a type of insect belonging to the order Odonata, the suborder Epiprocta or, in the strict sense, the infraorder Anisoptera.

Leeches are annelids comprising the subclass Hirudinea. There are freshwater, terrestrial, and marine leeches. Like the Oligochaeta, they share the presence of a clitellum.
Even though dragonflies possess 6 legs like any other insect, they are not capable of walking.
