Pinky and Partula

Another busy couple of weeks here at Bugworld. I thought i would share these pictures of our partula snails mating. Our partula snails are really rare, so to see  them mating is fantastic!
The picture below shows two adult Partula rosea mating.
Once they have fertilised each other you can expect them to give birth to a baby snails about 4 to 6 week later. These snails are one of only a few species that give birth to live young.

In other news our pink toed tarantula has shed so it will take a day to harden her new skin. You have to be careful not to feed them if they are shedding their skin as crickets have a tendency to eat the animal while it sheds.
